The signing ceremony was chaired by Mr. Mohamed Nouri Jouini Development and International Co-operation Minister and Industry and Energy Minister, Mr. Afif Chelbi, and Mr. Akihiro Ohata Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Minister.
Tunisia and Japan penned, on Saturday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU ) for the construction of a 5 Megawatt concentrated solar energy plant connected to a 40 Megawatt-combined cycle power plant.
The solar thermal plant will be funded by a 60 million-dinar donation granted by the Japanese New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
