The Husum Wind Fair, the traditional meeting place for the wind industry, has welcomed an international distinguished group of panelist to explore the status and new developments on community power and small and medium sized companies (SMEs) in Germany, Europe and worldwide. Together with the audience, the panelists discussed the challenges which SMEs and community based investors like energy cooperatives are facing today and the role they will play in the changing business landscape.
The symposium called “Trends in Community Power – the Future Role of SMEs and Energy Cooperatives” was held in the Nordsee Congress Center on 15 September 2015. It was hosted by the World Wind Energy Association WWEA in cooperation with the German Wind Energy Association BWE, the European federation of groups and cooperatives of citizens for renewable energy REScoop and the Global 100% Renewable Energy campaign go100re.net
